Katie Plakos
Speech Language Pathologist
About
Xenia is the ancient Greek concept of hospitality, connection, and welcome. Welcoming a therapist into your home, and into the bond with your child is intimate. Xenia represents the connection that supports early intervention goals.
A little about me: I earned my bachelor’s degree in music, and my master’s in speech language pathology at CU Boulder, where I am currently a clinical faculty and graduate student supervisor. My specialties are caregiver coaching, early childhood speech and language development, hearing loss, autism spectrum disorder, stuttering, and feeding/swallowing. I have worked in early intervention for 8 years and education for 20 years. I am passionate about seeing the whole child in their context, and I am neurodivergent affirming. You are the expert in your child, and I am your partner to support your goals for speech and communication!
What parents have said: "We had such a wonderful experience with Katie! My son was immediately comfortable with her, despite being quite shy. She made speech therapy fun, always explained to us why she was recommending the strategies she was, and met my son where he was. We did speech while playing, during snack, on walks, at playgrounds. She made it easy to incorporate it into our daily life." -Emily J
